I can’t believe we’ve hit the third trimester already! This pregnancy seems to be flying by, although in another way I do feel like I’ve been pregnant for an eternity. It’s a long wait when you find out you’re expecting at only four weeks. Although this is my first proper bump update, I have been taking regular bump pics throughout the last 30 weeks. Its so amazing how your body changes and grows to accommodate another little human! I actually feel like the least organised person on the planet this time around. With Nora, we had everything sat ready and waiting for her arrival from 30 weeks. This poor little babe has some nappies and sleep suits and that’s about it. I must get on with getting baby-ready!
How many weeks and due date?
30 weeks + 2 days pregnant. Baby is due 11th April 2016, 10 weeks and counting!
I just feel generally very pregnant! I’ve developed a bit of a waddle thanks to the lovely SPD I seem to be suffering with this time around. I am also constantly hungry! I’m so glad I decided to join Slimming World during my pregnancy. Such a good way of keeping my eating somewhat under control – I totally feel like a bottomless pit at the minute. I hate the thought of gaining loads of pregnancy weight and then having a massive postnatal battle with a Mum-tum, so I feel like I’m pre preparing for afterwards by doing Slimming World now. I’ve found I’ve been eating heaps of healthy food which is obviously brill for baby as well as me! Slimming World is the only weight loss plan of its kind to be fully endorsed by The Royal College of Midwives. You can read more about their pregnancy policy here.
Sleeping is gradually becoming more difficult; pelvic pain, five trips to the toilet, along with Nora shouting me three times a night gives me an average of about 5 hours sleep per night. My Dream Genii Pregnancy Pillow is like my saviour at the moment – the thought of sleeping without it makes me want to cry!
I’ve also been getting terrible cramp in my legs. The awful roll-around-the-floor-crying sort of cramps. Apparently eating bananas helps keep cramping at bay?!
This baby is going to be massive, I just know it! I’m measuring a week ahead and he is also breech. Having a head under my ribs is proving super painful. I have everything crossed that he will turn before 36 weeks – I really don’t fancy a C-section. He is very, very active. We had our first limb-sticking-out-of-belly incident the other morning. So freaky but lovely at the same time! He also already has awesome taste in music and goes wild for The Beatles!
According to my Pregnancy+ ap, baby now weighs between 2.5 and 3.8lbs (I’m gonna guess he weighs on the heavier side!) and is now the size of a winter squash! He is now able to see and will react to light and dark despite being on the inside! The hair on his head is also growing, I wonder if he’ll have a head full like Nora?!
What about me?
Well, I’m feeling marginally less stressed than I have been! House stuff and family stuff have really helped promote my ‘Stress Jessie’ reputation. The house is still no where near done; I’ve decided that everything should be completed by the end of February which should give me six weeks to relax before this baby is earth side.
We had a little trip to the seaside at the weekend, mainly to test out our new car! Its so weird to think that it might be the last time we go as a family of three. I feel like I need to appreciate having Nora on her own for these last few weeks before she becomes a big sister. So exciting yet so daunting at the same time!
We also have an office move planned next month which I’m so looking forward to. Not so much the moving, but having some new and more creative space. I’m also hoping to get as much work done as possible over these next few weeks before I take a few weeks off when baby arrives.
Plan for this next week is to stress less (ain’t gonna happen, lets be honest), get the kitchen planned and ordered, order a pram for this baba and finish his nursery – wish us luck!
