Our Perfect Holiday #MarkWarnerMum

19th February 2016

To me, holidays have always been a time for taking a step back from the every day hustle and bustle of life and from all the mundane stresses that come with it. They’re about taking the time to appreciate your surroundings and the people you’re experiencing them with. Holidays are and always have been, where my most treasured memories are made. Do you ever listen to a song or smell a scent that takes you right back to a specific moment?…

Mini Fashion: Nora’s Valentine’s OOTD

18th February 2016

There’s nothing I love more than dressing Nora up; theres just something about tiny outfits that have always been a total weakness of mine! From those first baby grows and cardigan co-ords to the mini versions of outfits I wish I could wear right now, I’ve loved (and unfortunately hoarded) every last one of them. Nora is now totally developing a mind of her own and is starting to request and refuse certain outfits. This completely adorable Valentines outfit, however, was a total hit.…

Yes or No: Matching Sibling Outfits

13th February 2016

My sister and I were always dressed in matching outfits as kids. Usually Sweater Shop jumpers (what happened to the Sweater Shop?), double denim or some amazing floral Laura Ashley dresses. Wasn’t the 90’s the coolest?! I know some people think it’s totally gross and unacceptable but I’ve always imagined dressing my kids in matching outfits. When we found out baby number two was a boy, a tiny spanner was thrown in the works. I got my thinking cap (slash internet…

Bump Update: 30 Weeks

4th February 2016

I can’t believe we’ve hit the third trimester already! This pregnancy seems to be flying by, although in another way I do feel like I’ve been pregnant for an eternity. It’s a long wait when you find out you’re expecting at only four weeks. Although this is my first proper bump update, I have been taking regular bump pics throughout the last 30 weeks. Its so amazing how your body changes and grows to accommodate another little human! I actually…

Natal Hypnotherapy

1st February 2016

Generally speaking, fear of the unknown is much worse than the unknown itself. That goes for most things; except for childbirth. Once you’ve birthed your first child, you know exactly what to expect the second time around and that fear is mostly definitely well founded. I’ve briefly touched upon my birth with Nora in a previous post and I will get around to uploading my full birth story but here is a brief low down on how Nora Noodle entered the…

#ConnectaMoments: The Connecta Carrier

30th January 2016

I don’t think you ever truly know what kind of parent you’re going to be until the day someone pops a brand new, squirming baby onto your chest and you think, oh my good god – that’s mine! We all have an idea of how we would like to parent, whether it be with a tough love and routine approach, a mother earth type mama or anything in between, but rarely do things pan out how you expected them to.…

House Renovation: Kitchen Inspo

22nd January 2016

When we bought our house four years ago it had been fully renovated by its current owners and although on the surface everything appeared shiny and new (beware!) it turned out to be the real life house that Jack built. My all time fave house disaster was when a piece of coving spontaneously fell from the ceiling and smashed the telly… Luckily for us, we had always had big plans for our traditional three bed 1920’s semi and what better time to carry…

The School House, Sandsend

20th January 2016

It seems like an eternity ago (!) but back in March last year we stayed at the beautiful School House in Sandsend for a long weekend, celebrating Ste’s birthday and Mother’s Day. There’s nothing I love more than escaping with family for the weekend! We booked through Gorgeous Cottages who offer the most amazing selection of Yorkshire-based luxury holiday accommodation. The cottage itself is a former schoolhouse and has been beautifully renovated maintaining so much of it’s traditional character and quirks. From…

Nursery Inspo: Baby Boy

19th January 2016

When we found out we were expecting a boy my initial intent of using Nora’s cute floral nursery wares went firmly out of the window. As a person who tried to stay away from the whole baby blue/cream/typical baby boy themes I turned my attentions to Pinterest and came up with my perfect nursery theme – monochrome with a dash of mustard. I’m so excited to see the finished product! So far we’ve only got as far as painting the room white which looks so clean and…

Antigua: A Perfect Slice Of Paradise

18th January 2016

Back in May last year we were lucky enough to be given the opportunity to visit the beautiful Caribbean Island of Antigua staying at the amazing St James’ Club Resort thanks to the wonderful people at Debenhams and Virgin Holidays. It really was one of those ‘trips of a lifetime’ type holidays. I can’t help but feel a little twinge of sadness when I look at the photos. Aside from the most picture perfect surroundings, it’s so rare we get…
